The Expovina team led by CEO Pascal Schlittler (right) and Master of Wine Ivan Barbic (left) opens the 18th edition of the Zurich Spring Fair.
Expovina Primavera, one of the largest trade fairs in the canton of Zurich and indeed Switzerland, has opened its doors. And it runs until April 11. It is the 18th edition of the spring edition of Expovina, which is known from the wine boats on Lake Zurich. 90 exhibitors, that's a full line-up, are showing around 1800 wines in Puls 5 in the historic Giesserei area. Everything is represented, from mass-produced stores to small winegrowers. There are also exotic exhibitors such as wine merchants with Romanian, Armenian or Moldavian wines. "There should be at least 10,000 visitors," says Expovina CEO Pascal Schlittler. Chairman of the Board Lukas Meier is even hoping for 15,000, although the summer weather at the weekend is unlikely to be very helpful. The tried-and-tested concept will be expanded with (free) master classes and a pop-up corner. "We have taken the tried and tested and expanded it with innovative concepts," says Schlittler.
(Expovina Primavera. Puls 5 in the Escher-Wyss-Areal in Zurich. April 4 to 11. Monday to Saturday 2pm to 9pm. Sunday 12 to 6 pm. Last day 2pm to 8pm. Tickets cost 33 francs. Early Bird, valid until 3 pm, 28 francs. Last minute, valid from 8 p.m., 20 francs. www.expovina.ch)
